What is Counselling?
Counselling offers the opportunity to work through your difficulties with a trained listener. The counsellor will offer support and understanding, challenge and insight, to enable you to begin to understand your situation and resolve any conflict.
I work from a psychodynamic perspective. This modality uses the client/therapist interaction to make sense of the client's experience. In a safe, non-judgemental and supportive setting, the aim of the therapy is to move towards an inner self-awareness, personal change and development.
Clients can call or email, have a short discussion about what is going on for them, what counselling could help with, and arrange an initial appointment.
After that initial appointment, clients can decide if counselling is for them, and the counsellor and client work together to decide the best way forward for them.
Counselling sessions are offered usually once a week, for a period of fifty minutes.
